On January 24, 2018, JHIRA co-founder Adam Lobel visited the offices of Professor Hitoshi Nitta, Dean of Contemporary Japanese Sociology at Kokugakuin University in Ise, Mie Prefecture (JPN: 新田 均教教授、皇学館大学、現代日本社会学部 学部長).
Professor Nitta is concurrently Director at 伊勢麻復興協会（Ise Asa Hemp Restoration Society), which brought hemp cultivation back to Mie Prefecture in 2017 last year after a 50 year hiatus.
